COVID-19 Policy - Printable policy document

Amidst the Coronoavirus (COVID-19) pandemic we are complying with new policy to ensure the safety of all patients.

In order to manage respiratory or potentially infectious patients, we are screening patients by phone to help manage their referral. We ask that you assist us by indicating appropriately on your patient’s referral one of the classifications below:

1. 1. Chronic non-infectious respiratory patients
      Patients with chronic lung disease but not infectious, please clearly state “chronic
      nonCOVID-19” on your patient’s referral to help us triage effectively.
      
      
   2. Acute URTI or LRTI non meeting fever clinic criteria for COVID-19
      These patients are “potentially acute infectious”, as mandated by the Health Department which
      requires full PPE and decontamination protocols. There are limited PPE resources currently
      supply is limited to hospital settings. If non urgent they could undergo testing for COVID-19,
      and if negative proceed with imaging. The current turnaround time is approximately 48-72
      hours.
      If the delay will alter management, we recommend patients phone prior to presenting at
      their nearest Emergency Department for assessment. For these patients, please clearly write
      “acutely unwell, COVID-19 requires exclusion.
      
      3. Suspected COVID-19 patients
      In accordance with State Department of Health directive we ask you to please send these
      patients to Public Hospital departments/fever clinics. We are currently unable to provide
      services for COVID-19 patients at our clinic due to the limited PPE resources.

FILM
In order to minimise the risk of transmission, the number of patients on our premises and comply with policy directions, we will no longer be offering printed film. All reports and images are available via electronic download or online via Noosa Radiology Connect. Please contact our Practice Manager, Sandy Rogers for assistance in this regard.
