Advancement in Interventional Procedures

Late last year we purchased an ALOCURO PRP preparation device.

This innovative new system allows collection of PRP with a high platelet concentration and reduction of white blood cell concentration compared with other systems, shown by research to provide improved clinical outcomes. Conditions commonly treated with PRP injections include tendinopathy, tenosynovitis, partial thickness tendon tears, and osteoarthritis.

We now offer EUFLEXXA as a treatment option for painful osteoarthritis refractive to conservative treatment. This is a sodium hyaluronate, a product similar to Synvisc or Durolane. The recommendation is for 3 injections for maximum relief over a 4-6 weeks period. In general, one course of three EUFLEXXA injections has been shown to provide up to six months of pain relief in the knee. This service is medicare rebatable with injections administered over 3 visits.

Following the latest Medicare changes, we are offering ultrasound-guided injections for hips or shoulders on the same day as the diagnostic ultrasound wherever possible when clinically indicated.

All ultrasound-guided FNA will be bulk billed from June 1.
